The event is the 3rd annual Creighton University School of Medicine Phoenix Make-A-Wish 5K Run/Walk. It takes place at Papago Park using the designated 5K Fitness Trail, with the course starting and ending at the West Buttes parking lot near 625 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
The route follows a well-groomed dirt trail with some paved sections. Organizers provide one water station approximately halfway through the course. Check-in is located at the West Buttes parking lot where participants pick up a race bib and a post-race goodie bag. ADA-accessible port-a-potties are available in the start/finish area.
Each participant receives a race t-shirt and a free raffle entry. Registrations submitted after February 1, 2026 cannot be guaranteed the preferred shirt size. Parking is limited at the West Buttes lot; overflow parking is planned at the zoo parking on the other side of Galvin Parkway. After the event there will be snacks and drinks, award prizes for top finishers, and raffle items. Results are posted shortly after the race.
