Copper City 24 Hour Race

The Copper City 12/24 Hour Run is an endurance running event held in Three Forks, Montana. Participants run on a smooth, relatively flat one-mile loop of double track that offers scenic views of multiple mountain ranges, distant city lights, an old copper smelter, and farm animals. The course is designed to be non-technical, allowing runners to focus on distance.

A well-stocked aid station provides snacks and hot food every four hours. Camping is permitted along the course, enhancing the event’s community and outdoor atmosphere. The John Colter Run is a rugged 7 mile course at Missouri Headwaters State Park with muddy trails and waist deep river crossings that test adventurous runners. Limited to 300, it ends with awards, a barbecue, beer and live music.
