Coombabah Trail Run - Coombabah Trail Run / Walk
Coombabah Trail Run is a community trail running and walking event held in the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area. The event uses the reserve entrance opposite Southport Airfield on Shelter Road, along the Koala Trail, and takes place within the Coombabah wetlands that form part of the Southern Moreton Bay Marine Park and are listed under the Ramsar Convention.
Two route options are offered:
- 12.5 km trail route
- 5.5 km trail route
On event day each participant receives a race number/bib and a Coombabah Trail Run logoed event visor running hat or bucket hat. At the finish participants are given something sweet and a drink. A fully equipped paramedical team is on site during the race.
The organisers aim to limit entries to keep field sizes small and personal. The event runs a program of prize draws that have included YETI custom drinkware and Specialized T-shirts with an embroidered Coombabah Trail Run logo. From 2025 a larger prize will be drawn from entries across three yearly events to support travel and entry to an overseas race, with accommodation and transport included.
