Coombabah Trail Run

Coombabah Trail Run is a community trail running and walking event held at the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area on the Gold Coast. The start and finish are at the reserve main entrance opposite the Southport Airfield on Shelter Road (Koala Trail). The organisers are local runners and residents who limit entries to keep the event small and personal.

Two course options are offered:

  • 12.5 km : AU$52.50
  • 5.5 km : AU$40.00

On event day each participant receives a race number and a Coombabah Trail Run logoed visor or bucket hat. At the finish participants receive a sweet snack and a drink. A fully equipped paramedical team is on site during the race.

The conservation area is part of the Southern Moreton Bay Marine Park and is registered under the Ramsar Convention on wetlands of international importance. The event includes prize draws that have featured YETI drinkware and Specialized T-shirts. From 2025, a prize drawn from entries across the yearly events includes entry, accommodation for two, and transport to the Papatowai Challenge in Otago, New Zealand; this prize is delivered in partnership with an external organisation.

A refund policy describes partial or full refunds depending on the timing of cancellations, transfers to future events, and procedures for postponement or full cancellation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
