Event Overview

The Wild Earth Border Bolt is a running event on the Gold Coast running calendar. It takes place in Currumbin. In 2026, it will be held on Sunday, August 2. It is the second event in the Trail Trips Triple Crown series.

Distances

The event offers four distances:

  • 6.6 km (all pavement)
  • 13.5 km (includes some trail)
  • 22 km (full trail meal)
  • 31 km (includes Strawberry Hill)

The course features hinterland hills, ocean views, and uses an out-and-back format on the Border Trails. The event is part of two Triple Crown series: a Short Course series (22km Bolt, 15km In the Raw, 28km Coastal High Crunch) and a Long Course series (31km Bolt, 25km In the Raw, 50km Coastal High). A discounted rate and a free gift are offered for entering all three Triple Crown races.

Trail runs nearby

Trail races over 13.2 km and 6.2 km through the Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area near Lakelands Road in Queensland. The event limits entries, provides on site medical support and finish line refreshments.

Gold Coast Running Festival on 26 April 2026 offers races from 1 km to 3/4 marathon at Cbus Super Stadium, Robina. The event includes bag storage, aid stations, pacers in yellow shirts and event photography.
