Border Bolt Running Festival
The Wild Earth Border Bolt is a trail running event on the Gold Coast, based at Currumbin and scheduled for August 2026. The race uses an out and back format that moves from Currumbin Creek into hinterland hills and offers ocean views from higher points along the course. Terrain includes pavement and increasing trail sections with twists, turns and varied climbs.
There are four distance options:
- 6.6 km: all pavement.
- 13.5 km: mixed pavement and some trail.
- 22 km: primarily trail; designated as the Short Course option in the Triple Crown.
- 31 km: longest distance, includes Strawberry Hill and more extended trail sections.
The Border Bolt is the second round in the Trail Trips Triple Crown series. The Triple Crown series also incorporates Wild Earth In the Raw and the Wild Earth Coastal High events. The Short Course series pairs the Bolt 22 km with a 15 km In the Raw and a 28 km Coastal High Crunch. The Long Course series requires the Bolt 31 km, a 25 km In the Raw, and the Coastal High 50. Entering all three Triple Crown races at once is offered with a discounted rate and a Trail Trips backpack and gift bag. Entries open February 1, 2026.
