Border Bolt Running Festival

The Border Bolt Running Festival takes place in Currumbin, Queensland, utilizing the trail networks along the border area. The event features an out and back course design that provides participants with views of the ocean.

Participants can choose from four distinct distance options, each offering a different surface type and elevation profile:

  • 6.6 km: This distance is held entirely on pavement.
  • 13.5 km: This route includes a section of trail running.
  • 22 km: This course provides a full trail running experience.
  • 31 km: The longest distance includes several hills and the Strawberry Hill section.

The event serves as the second round of the Trail Trips Triple Crown series. This series also includes the "In the Raw" event in May and the "Coastal High" event in late August. Within this series, the 22 km distance is designated as the Short Course series option, while the 31 km distance serves as the Long Course series option.

The festival supports the Currumbin Community Special School through fundraising efforts. The event is supported by various local organizations and sports health partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
