Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Cool Moon 100 is a 100-mile trail race held in Cool, California, using a start/finish at the Cool Staging Area (7200 Saint Florian Court). The race is run as repeated laps of two different loops: one of 13.5 miles and one of 11.5 miles, completed in the order North then South until 100 miles is reached. The course surface is a mix of single track and fire roads and is described as well-marked. Total elevation gain and loss for the 100 miles is approximately 13,600 feet.
Course, support and logistics
- 13.5-mile loop elevation approximately 2,200 ft.
- 11.5-mile loop elevation approximately 1,150 ft.
Aid stations are located on both loops, with a mix of full stations and water-only stations at named trail points. Drop bags are permitted at Cool and Knickerbocker only. Crews are restricted to the Cool Staging Area and may assist runners there after each loop. Pacers are allowed after completion of the third loop (mile 38.5). Packet pickup is offered the day before the race and on race morning at the start/finish area. Parking at the start area is free and included with registration. Live runner tracking will be provided via UltraLive.net with new timing equipment and timing chips. Finishers receive a handcrafted Comstock Heritage finisher's buckle, shirt, and medal; top-3 overall male and female finishers receive custom plaques.
