Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run

Event overview

Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run is a 100-mile trail race in Cool, CA on June 13, 2026. The race uses the Cool Staging Area (7200 Saint Florian Court) as the start and finish location. Parking at the staging area is free and included with registration. Live runner tracking will be provided, and new timing chips and equipment will be used for all athletes. Finishers receive a handcrafted silver buckle, a shirt, and a finisher's medal. Top three overall male and female finishers receive custom plaques.

Course

The course is made from two out-and-back style loops run in sequence: North then South. Distances:

• 13.5-mile North loop
• 11.5-mile South loop

Each competitor completes four 13.5-mile loops and four 11.5-mile loops to reach 100 miles. The course surface is single track and fire roads. Approximate elevation: the 13.5-mile loop gains about 2,200 feet, the 11.5-mile loop about 1,150 feet, and total elevation gain/loss for the 100-miler is approximately 13,600 feet. The course is described as well-marked.

Support and rules

Aid stations on the loops include a mix of full stations and water-only stations at named locations, with the Cool Staging Area serving as the main start/finish aid. Cutoffs are enforced at mile 88.5 (33 hours) and at mile 100 (37 hours); runners missing these cutoffs will be recorded as DNF. Pacers are allowed only after completion of the third loop (mile 38.5). Crews may assist only at the Cool Staging Area. Drop bags are permitted at Cool and Knickerbocker. Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race and on race morning at the start/finish area.
