Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run

The Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run is a 100-mile multi-loop trail event held in Cool, California. The course is based on two loops: a 13.5-mile North loop and an 11.5-mile South loop. Runners complete four of each loop, running North then South in sequence, to reach the full distance.

  • 13.5-mile North loop
  • 11.5-mile South loop

The terrain includes single track and fire roads. The North loop has approximately 2,200 feet of elevation gain, the South loop approximately 1,150 feet, and the race totals about 13,600 feet of elevation gain and loss. The course is marked for navigation and has multiple aid stations placed at specified mile points on each loop, including full aid and water-only stations.

Live runner tracking and chip timing are provided by UltraLive.net with timing equipment and chips for athletes. Pacers are permitted only after the third loop, and crew access is restricted to the start/finish staging area where crews may assist runners after each completed loop. Drop bags are allowed at the Cool and Knickerbocker locations. Cutoff requirements include a 33 hour limit at mile 88.5 and a 37 hour limit at the 100-mile finish; runners who miss these cutoffs will be recorded as DNF.

All finishers receive a handcrafted Comstock Heritage finisher buckle, a shirt, and a finisher medal. Top three overall male and female finishers receive custom award plaques. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
