Cool Moon 100 Mile Endurance Run - June 13, 2026

The Cool Moon 100 is a 100-mile trail race held in Cool, California. The route uses two closed loops run in alternating order: a North loop and a South loop. The course surface is single track and fire roads, and it is described as very well marked.

Each competitor completes four laps of each loop to reach the 100-mile distance. The two loop lengths are:

  • 13.5-mile North loop
  • 11.5-mile South loop

The North loop has approximately 2,200 feet of elevation gain; the South loop has approximately 1,150 feet. Total elevation gain and loss for the 100 miles is about 13,600 feet. Cutoffs include a 33-hour checkpoint at mile 88.5 and a 37-hour overall finish cutoff at the Cool Staging Area; runners who miss these cutoffs will be recorded as DNF.

Aid stations are located on both loops with a mix of full stations and water-only stations. Packet pickup is offered the day before the race at the start/finish area and on race morning at the same location. Parking at the Cool Staging Area is free and included with registration. Pacers are permitted after the third loop (mile 38.5). Crews are restricted to the Cool Staging Area and may assist runners after each loop. Drop bags are allowed at Cool and Knickerbocker with morning collection at the start area.

Live runner tracking and course GPX maps are available for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
