Connor's Claims Ultra is an annual trail event held from the Jacob City Trailhead near Stockton, Utah. The event is USATF sanctioned and offers three distinct distances with significant elevation gain and multiple staffed aid stations.
The courses follow historic mining roads, ATV trails, and technical singletrack through the Oquirrh and Stansbury Mountain foothills and Rush Valley. Runners will encounter summit climbs to named highpoints including Porphyry Hill and Bald Mountain East and West.
Distances:
- 50 Mile / ~52 miles, ~14,000 ft vert
- 50K / 31.1 miles, ~9,500 ft vert
- Half Marathon / 13.8 miles, ~3,900 ft vert
The 50 mile route includes about five major climbs of roughly 2,000 to 3,300 ft each and multiple aid stations spaced throughout the course. The 50K route contains about three comparable climbs. The half marathon climbs to Bald Mountain West and returns along the old Gisbourne Toll Road.
Surface composition is predominantly mining road and ATV trail with minimal off-trail sections. The event is run with a low-key format that omits large finish line productions; modest awards are given to the top three men and women in each distance.
Hard cutoffs are enforced by mile marker and elapsed time, for example the 50 mile course has cutoffs at mile 40 at 14 hours and mile 52 at 19 hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
