Connor's Claims Ultra
The Connor's Claims Ultra takes place in Stockton, Utah, at the Jacob City Trailhead. Organized by Tooele Trail Racing, the event navigates the Oquirrh Mountains, utilizing terrain once used for mining claims in the 1860s. The routes consist primarily of mining roads and ATV trails, with small sections of off-trail travel. Participants can see views of the Stansbury and Onaqui Mountains, as well as Rush Valley and Tooele Valley.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- 50 Miler: Features approximately 14,000 feet of vertical gain across 52 miles, including two summits of Porphyry Hill and climbs of Bald Mountain East and West.
- 50K: Covers 31.1 miles with approximately 9,500 feet of vertical gain, crossing Bald Mountain East and Bald Mountain West.
- Half-Marathon: A 13.8-mile course with roughly 3,900 feet of elevation gain, reaching the summit of Bald Mountain West at 9,626 feet.
The event is USATF sanctioned and follows a low-key format without finisher medals or public announcements. Aid stations are positioned throughout all courses to support runners. Specific cut-off times are enforced at various mile markers for the safety of participants. The top three men and women in each distance receive a modest award. Registration for the event typically opens in October of the preceding year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
