Bear Trap Trail Races
Bear Trap Trail Races take place in Settlement Canyon, Tooele, Utah on 10 October 2026. The event offers three distances: Marathon, 23k, and 10k, each run on one or more looped mountain courses in Left Hand Fork and surrounding ridges.
The event uses three distinct loops. Loop A is about 6.2 miles with roughly 1,800 feet of vertical gain and is mostly single-track. Loop B is about 8.6 miles with roughly 1,700 feet of vertical gain and includes single-track, double-track, and dirt road. Loop C is about 8.2 miles with roughly 1,600 feet of vertical gain and includes double-track, dirt roads, and ridge traversing. The Marathon combines all three loops for about 8,000 feet of total vertical gain.
Aid stations are located at the Start/Finish Area and at designated loop returns, stocked with water, electrolyte, fruit, and savory items. Runners may keep a drop bag at the Start/Finish Area or in a vehicle; the organizer is not responsible for lost or damaged items. Registration closes 8 October 2026. Registration fees are nonrefundable and transfers are not permitted; registrants may defer to a future Tooele Trail Racing event if they notify organizers by 8 October 2026.
The course ranges between 5,300 and 9,600 feet in elevation. Snow and freezing conditions have occurred in mid October in past years, and courses are subject to change at the race director's discretion. Off course deviations must be corrected at the point of deviation or result in disqualification. No animals are allowed on the course or at the Start/Finish Area.
