Collegeville Ultra

The Collegeville Ultra is presented as a sustainable trail race held in the St. John’s Abbey Arboretum on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The event uses a roughly 10 mile loop that passes through prairie, oak savanna, hardwood and conifer forest, lakes, and wetlands across the nearly 3,000 acre arboretum. Surfaces on the loop include dirt, double track, single track, boardwalk, and paved trails.

Distances are offered as loop-based races and the course layout repeats laps. The race site is at Saint John’s Durenberger Athletic Fields, 2355 Durenberger Fields Dr, Collegeville, MN 56321. Registration closes April 30.

The Distances

  • 10 Mile Race: 1 loop
  • 20 Mile Race: 2 loops
  • 50k Race: 3 loops plus a short section

Aid stations are organized with two stations per loop. Aid station 1 is at the start and allows drop bags. Aid station 2 is near the Stone Gate and is accessible by crews via the Old Entrance Road; runners pass this station twice each loop. To reduce environmental impact the event is cupless and runners must carry their own containers. Rules include no littering and no course cutting, each resulting in disqualification. Registered participants before April 13 are guaranteed a race t-shirt, and finishers receive a medallion for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
