Cobb and Co Backyard Ultra

Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra

The Cobb & Co Backyard Ultra is staged at the Nine Mile Camping Grounds, 1484 Noosa Road, Tandur QLD. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: competitors run a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour. A loop must be completed within the hour to count; missing the start results in disqualification. Each lap is a reset and there is no finish line until only one runner remains.

The course is contained within the campground so runners, crew and spectators remain close to the action. Competitors are allocated a 3 x 3 metre space for their crew. Camping and accommodation are managed directly by Cobb & Co and cannot be booked online. Onsite options include unpowered camping sites and a range of tent and cabin style glamping options. Day visit passes for crew and spectators cost $5 per person payable to Cobb & Co on arrival and are valid until 4pm. Overnight camping fees are listed as $20 per adult, $17 per child, with infants under two free. Generators are permitted between 8am and 6pm. Some glamping options require a minimum two night booking.

Race procedures include a whistle countdown in the final three minutes before each loop and a triangular start signal; runners must be inside the starting corral before the triangle rings. Competitors may not leave the course except for restroom use, and non-competitors are not allowed on the course. Personal aid on course is prohibited. Head torches are mandatory for night loops. First aid will be available at the start/finish area. Race refunds are available until 1 November 2026 subject to a $30 administration fee; transfers are not permitted.
