Run Queensland stages the Yandina Five 'O' on trails around the township of Yandina in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The event is set around Mapleton National Park and some private land and passes bubbling creeks, a lookout and varied hilly terrain. All races start and finish at Terella Brewing, North Arm.

There are four distances:

  • 50 km
  • 36 km
  • 21 km
  • 12 km

Entries close before race day and there are no on-the-day entries. Entry fees include an event shirt, a finisher's memento, parking and a courtesy bus from the parking area to the start/finish area. Minimum age limits apply to each distance and participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present.

Mandatory gear requirements include a mobile phone with emergency contacts, a visible race bib, a compression bandage, and minimum hydration capacity that varies by distance; 50 km competitors also require a headlamp. The course is marked with reflective orange flagging tape, red directional arrows and red crosses to indicate incorrect routes. Organisers provide downloadable course files for offline navigation.

Support crews and spectators are not permitted on the course and may attend only at the start/finish area. Parking is at a separate location with a courtesy bus to the race site. Drop bags are allowed for the 50 km race only and must meet size and weight rules and be handed in before race day or by early race morning.
