Both courses are out-and-back on well groomed, 100% dirt trail. With the exception of the first quarter mile, the route is mostly flat and is described as a sprint-style course. Both courses offer wide open lagoon views and finish with a downhill section. The area is noted as a nesting place for osprey, which may be visible during the event.
