Double Peak Challenge

Double Peak Challenge 10K/5K - San Marcos, CA

The Double Peak Challenge is a community running event on Saturday, September 26, 2026, held at the San Elijo Recreation Center Lower Field, 1105 Elfin Forest Road, San Marcos, CA 92078. The event is presented by Friends of San Marcos Parks and Recreation.

• 10K Competitive Race
• 5K Fun Run
• Kids Trot (free)

Registration and fees follow tiered pricing for presale through September 23. Example tiers listed for the 10K are $60 on 7/31, $70 for 8/1-31, and $80 for 9/1-19. The 5K has corresponding tiered pricing and the Kids Trot is free. Participants in the 10K and 5K receive a wooden medal, a race shirt, access to the race expo, and a complimentary beer ticket for those 21 and older. Kids Trot participants receive a medal and expo access.

Packet pickup is scheduled on Wednesday, September 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at North City, 250 N. City Drive, San Marcos 92078; free parking is available on site. Bib pickup will also be available on race morning, though lines may form.

Event parking for participants is available on surrounding streets and at San Elijo Middle School and San Elijo Elementary School. A participant drop off area and ADA parking are provided in the parking lot adjacent to San Elijo Road; no other participant parking is permitted in that area.
