The 5th annual South Bay 24 takes place at Montgomery Waller Community Park in San Diego on July 24, 2026. The event centers on repeated laps of a short loop course around the park and includes multiple timed and social race formats.
The course is a 1.22 mile loop with a mix of trail, grass and bike path. Terrain breakdown is roughly 50 percent trail, 25 percent grass and 25 percent bike path. Elevation gain is about 46 feet per loop. The loop runs counter clockwise and 82 loops equal 100 miles.
Race options include:
- 24 Hour
- 12 Hour Night
- 12 Hour Day
- 6 Hour Day
- HEFFTY Half Marathon Night (about 15.86 miles / 13 laps)
- South Bay Social (limited to 50 runners, no awards, finisher medal)
Additional event features include a dedicated runner campsite area, oncourse aid station with water, electrolytes and snacks, finishers medals, and belt buckles for those who reach 100 miles. A purse prize of $1500 may be awarded to the first runner to reach 125 miles (103 laps). The event is officially sanctioned by USATF San Diego.
