Carmel Valley Trail Race
The Carmel Valley Trail Race takes place in Gonzales Canyon Open Space with start and finish at Solana Ranch Park in Carmel Valley, San Diego. The listed venue address is 13605 Pacific Highlands Ranch Parkway, San Diego, CA 92130.
This is the 13th annual running of the event. Courses are laid out so the start and finish are comparatively flat while most elevation gains occur in the middle of the routes. The 10 Mile and 10K courses both include a locally known sustained climb referred to as "Puke Hill"; the 5K course is kept flat. Despite the coastal setting, some trail segments can feel similar to mountain running terrain.

The 10K and 5K distances are designated as championship qualifying events. The event is limited to 300 runners due to new park guidelines. Packet pickup is scheduled on October 8 at Injinji HQ, 6975 Flanders Drive, San Diego, CA 92130, and on October 9 at Fleet Feet San Diego, 5980 Village Way, San Diego, CA 92130.
