Black Mountain Turkey Burner Trail Race

The Black Mountain Turkey Burner Trail Race is an annual event held in San Diego, California. The race takes place inside the Black Mountain Community Park and serves as a qualifier for the ERS Championship across all categories. This event is part of the Sunshine Series schedule.

The competition offers several trail distances to accommodate different levels of technical difficulty:

  • Half Marathon (approx. 13 miles)
  • 10K (approx. 6.4 miles)
  • 5K (approx. 3.7 miles)
  • Kids dash

The Half Marathon course includes significant hill climbing on technical trails. The 10K and 5K routes are held on more groomed dirt trails, although they still feature some inclines. All participants begin and end their run at the Black Mountain Community Park.

In accordance with park guidelines, the event has a participation limit of 300 runners. Packet pickup is scheduled on the Wednesday and Saturday leading up to the race.
