Climb It For Climate - The Running Kind

Climb It For Climate is a mountain trail event at Belleayre Resort in the Catskill Mountains, held on August 16, 2026. Belleayre sits just under 3,500 ft and the event highlights views of the Catskill High Peaks. Runners and hikers may choose between two distances.

  • 25K : ~16 miles; 5000+ ft climbing and descending; difficult terrain.
  • 8K : on Belleayre ski slopes; approachable mountain introduction.

Both distances are open to hikers. Course maps are available for download. Registration includes a fee to offset carbon emissions related to the event; the organizer partners with a climate offset project and will collect additional donations and raffle proceeds for The Catskill Center. The event is presented as a zero carbon effort, with the organizer subsidizing offset costs.

Additional activities include a shake out run, bib pickup with a pre-race dinner offering vegan and gluten free options, and a live podcast on the day before the race. There are organized trail work and course preview outings in the lead up to the race. Shoe donations are accepted for Sneakers 4 Good, and several sponsors are listed for the event.
