Climb It For Climate - The Running Kind

Climb It For Climate is a mountain trail event held at Belleayre Resort in the Catskill Mountains. The venue sits just under 3500 ft and offers views of the Catskill High Peaks. The event presents two course options and allows both runners and hikers to participate.

The longer course is listed as 25K and covers about 16 miles with 5000+ ft of climbing and descending on difficult terrain. Course maps are provided for both distances and organizers recommend downloading them before race day. The shorter course is an 8K routed on ski slopes at Belleayre proper.

The event is organized as a zero carbon event; registration includes a fee to offset carbon emissions related to the event, and the organizers partner with the Change Climate Project. Monetary donations are collected through registration and a raffle for The Catskill Center. Sponsors named for the event include HOKA, Who Gives A Crap, and Salt Stick.

Additional community elements include pre-race activities, a live podcast and a pre-race dinner with vegan and gluten free options, trail work and course preview opportunities, and a shoe donation collection for Sneakers 4 Good. The event is presented by The Running Kind and is part of the Mountain Madness series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
