About the race
Manitou’s Revenge is a 53 mile ultramarathon held June 19, 2027, in Windham, New York. The race is organized by Run Wild Inc. and runs from Windham to downtown Phoenicia along mountain trails.
The course begins on the northern Black Dome Trail and follows the Long Path from Acra Point to Phoenicia. It includes approximately 15,000 ft of climbing and features rocky, precipitous terrain. Some sections are runnable, but much of the route requires hiking uphill or downhill and occasional hand over hand movement. The course becomes progressively more difficult along the way, and some runners may encounter the hardest terrain in darkness.
Because sections of the route are remote, aid stations are limited. Participants should be prepared for stretches of up to three or four hours between aid and be reasonably self-sufficient. The route passes scenic sections of the Catskill Mountains.
Registration opens in stages in 2027: initial registration from February 1 is reserved for past finishers, and general registration opens February 22. Registrations made between February 1 and 21 by people who are not previous finishers will be removed from the temporary waitlist without separate notification. Registration operates via a temporary waitlist, and qualified entrants receive an invitation to complete registration.
