The Cat's Tail Trail Marathon is the 12th annual running of a point to point trail race in Shandaken, New York. The event covers 26 miles through the Slide Mountain Wilderness Area in the Catskill Mountains.
The course includes nearly 7,000 feet of vertical gain and moves across rolling ridgelines and technical, rocky terrain. The layout is point to point and showcases typical mountain trail features.
Proceeds from the race support Run Wild, Inc. The event offers a 25% registration discount for veterans and first responders. On-course services include multiple aid stations and post-race refreshments, and entrants receive event swag.
The event uses the Ultra SignUp Refund Guarantee. Participants who cancel at least 24 hours before the event are eligible for an 80% refund including taxes and fees. Requests related to pregnancy and postpartum are reviewed individually.
