Shawangunk Ridge Trail Run (SRT)

The Shawangunk Ridge Trail Run is a trail event centered on the Shawangunk Ridge and finishing near Rosendale, New York. The underlying trail runs about 70 miles along the ridgeline and passes features such as rolling hills, wetlands, dwarf pine barrens, sky lakes, waterfalls, and white conglomerate cliffs. Vantage points on the ridge rise to roughly 2,000 feet above the Hudson Valley and offer long-distance views.

The event includes three separate divisions with distinct distances:

• 70 mile division
• 30 mile division
• Half marathon division

The course is rugged and varied. Trails are well blazed but there are no supplemental markings, and some sections include rocky footing, squeezes, or scrambles. The event is unsupported: participants must carry their own food and water purification equipment and cannot rely on drop bags, resupply caches, outside support crews, or pacers. Multiple checkpoints are enforced and time cutoffs apply at several points along the route.

Logistics note that event parking is provided in Rosendale; parking at Sam's Point or Minnewaska State Park Preserve is not permitted. Shuttle bus service is used to move participants to start areas when needed, and a shuttle ticket is required if a participant is not dropped off at a start line. The organizer provides event tech shirts, finishers medals, a barefoot badge option, completion certificates for 70 mile finishers, and ceremonial awards for division winners.
