Circuit Du Sore Legs is a track running event organised by Zig Zag Running at Wodson Park Sports and Leisure Centre in Ware, Hertfordshire. The event offers chip timing, bespoke medals, race photos, and an ARC licence. Entry is limited to up to 100 entrants. Entry fees range from about £27 to £38 and some distances have age minimums (for example 5k 14+, 10k 17+, longer distances 18+). Registration requires arrival 30-45 minutes before the runner's start to collect race numbers and receive a race briefing. The event is cupless; runners should bring their own cups or bottles for refilling.

Distances and course

All races take place on a 400 metre athletics track. Lap counts (based on lane 1) are:

  • 5k = 12.5 laps
  • 10k = 25 laps
  • Half marathon = 52.75 laps
  • Full marathon = 105.5 laps
  • 50k Ultra = 125 laps
  • 6 hour challenge = timed, unlimited laps

Race organisers will count laps to determine distance; GPS watch distances may vary by lane.

Facilities and race operations

The venue provides free parking, toilets and changing rooms close to the track, and aid stations around the course. Overtaking is on the right and walkers are asked to use outer lanes. Trail runs nearby

A night street orienteering event in Chelmsford on 21 January using MapRun with two courses of 4.0 km and 7.3 km. It counts toward the Essex Winter Midweek Series with handicap scoring and an Anytime catch-up option.

Join the Dark Horse Trail on 21 January 2026 for a 5 mile self navigated run around Galleywood Common, starting and finishing at the Horse and Groom pub. Limited to 60 places, entry includes a sausage or veggie burger with chips.

Pick your distance on the day at Running Tribe Races in Chalfont St Peter and tackle looped trails through woods and footpaths. Distances from 7 km up to marathon and ultra are offered, with an aid station serving food and drinks.

Dark Rose is a 5.5 mile trail race around Great Waltham with a small 75 runner field and self navigation route given on the day. Finish back at the Rose and Crown for a hearty cottage pie or vegetable lasagne.
