The Chopwell Woods Christmas Trail Races take place on 21 December 2025 at Chopwell Woods, Rowlands Gill, Gateshead. The woodland is a 360-hectare mixed site managed by Forestry England. The event is canicross friendly, with one controlled dog permitted per runner. Route maps are provided for each distance. Live chip-timing will be used and Timing Up North is the timing provider.

  • Family 1 Mile (ages 3–11; adult runs free with child)
  • 4 Mile (ages 11+)
  • 8 Mile (ages 16+)

All finishers of the 4 Mile and 8 Mile runs receive a medal, event merchandise, mince pies, chocolates and a drink. Family Mile finishers receive a medal, a drink and a selection box. An event T-shirt is available for purchase at £12. There is free parking on site, but spaces are very limited. Registration opens 06/01/2025 and closes 17/12/2025.
