Chopwell Woods Christmas Trail Races

Chopwell Woods Christmas Trail Races take place at Chopwell Woods, Rowlands Gill, Gateshead. The venue is a 360 hectare mixed woodland managed by Forestry England and has hosted this event since 2019.

Event distances are:

Family 1 Mile (ages 3 to 11, adult runs free with child)
4 Mile (ages 11 and over)
8 Mile (ages 16 and over)

Route maps are provided for the 1, 4 and 8 mile courses. The event is Canicross friendly; one controlled dog per runner is allowed. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North.

All finishers of the 4 and 8 mile runs receive an event medal, event merchandise, mince pies, chocolates and a drink. Family Mile finishers receive an event medal, a drink and a selection box. An event T shirt is available to purchase for £12 at entry. Entry prices range from £12 to £28.

Free parking is available on site but spaces are very limited. Scott Sports will host a shoe demo at the event and demo pairs are offered on a first come first served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
