The Chopwell Moon Runner is a 10k head-torch trail race held in Chopwell Woodland Park on 18 October 2025. The route is new for 2025 and will follow well-marked footpaths, forest trails and bridleways. The event has a minimum age of 15. Entry fees are listed as £24 for UKA members and £26 for non-members. Entries open 25 November 2024 and close 16 October 2025.

Location, course and facilities

The venue is Chopwell Woodland Park on the fringe of Gateshead. The race starts and finishes at the Pines near the main car park. Terrain includes a mixture of hard-packed gravel tracks, single twisting dirt tracks and occasional muddy bridleway. The route offers occasional views of woodland sculptures and local wildlife.

Race facilities include a race headquarters with toilets, water, snacks and fruit at the start and finish area, and medical support on the course. There are spaces for approximately 200 cars; participants are encouraged to car share where possible. The event organiser provides a race memento, free event pictures, prizes for the top three male and female finishers, and category prizes for veteran age groups (V40, V50, V60, V70).
