The CFRA Wasdale Fell Race, held in the heart of the Lake District at Wasdale, is renowned as one of the most challenging and scenic fell races. Covering approximately 34 km (21.1 miles) with 2750m (9022 ft) of ascent, the course demands strong mountain skills, navigation, and endurance. Starting near the National Trust campsite at Brackenclose, runners tackle iconic peaks including Whin Rigg, Seatallan, Pillar, Great Gable, and England’s highest point, Scafell Pike. The race features a mix of grassy runs, steep climbs, and technical descents, with strict kit requirements for safety.
