Lakeland Trails Ultra is a trail running event based in Ambleside, Cumbria, offering four measured distances. The courses are fully waymarked and marshalled and run on mainly hard-packed trails with some muddy sections and road crossings. Trail runs nearby

A fully way marked 47 mile trail around Lake Windermere, open to runners and walkers with 24 hours to complete. The route has GPS support, five aid stations, a halfway bag drop, a finishers meal and a locally sourced medal.

Canicross at Dodd Wood on 9 May 2026 with two marked, chip timed loops and views over Bassenthwaite Lake. Choose an 8K route with 370 m ascent or a 5K route with 210 m ascent; two dogs per runner are allowed on wide sections.

A 9 mile (14.5 km) clockwise fell race around Fairfield that starts and finishes at Rydal Hall near Ambleside, with 914 m of ascent. The flagged route uses checkpoints and a cut off at Great Rigg and FRA kit rules apply.

A senior fell race on 9 May 2026 at Lupton Fields, Sedbergh School, run under Fell Runners Association rules with a fully flagged route and marshals. Entry is for adults aged 18 and over and the entry fee is £2.
