Lakeland Trails Ultra in Ambleside

The event is a set of trail runs based in Ambleside, Cumbria, organised by Lakeland Trails. Courses run through Lake District mountain scenery and are described as fully waymarked and marshalled. Terrain is mainly hard packed trails with occasional muddy sections and some road links.

Safety and services on course include professional advanced life support medical cover, radio communications and course marshals. There are time limits and minimum ages by distance: the Ultra 100k has a 23 hour limit and requires entrants to be 18 or over; the Ultra 55k has 12 hour and 13 hour cut offs depending on the start type and requires entrants to be 18 or over; the 23k and 14k have 5 hour and 3 hour limits and have minimum age requirements. The event village at Rothay Park includes food and trade stalls, PA commentary and live entertainment. Specific safety rules include a compulsory kit check and photographic ID for ultra entrants, restrictions on in ear headphones and a ban on dogs on course. Trail runs nearby

A summer evening five mile race from Halton Mill in Lancaster following the river Millennium path, meadows and a technical single track. Entries open in April with fees that differ for affiliated and unaffiliated runners, minimum age 16.

A traditional old English sports meeting on 28 May 2026 for all ages, with prize money and gate entries. Published fees of £6 for adults and £4 for children appear alongside a note that entries are free.

OMM Lite in Grasmere is a map based navigation event over one or two days where solo runners or teams locate numbered checkpoints to score points, with timing chips, live tracking, bespoke maps and a post event hot meal included.

Two category A fell races around the head of the Duddon Valley presenting long and short mountain courses with significant ascent. Strong navigation skills and full mountain kit are required.
