South Downs Way 100® - Matterley Bowl to Eastbourne
The South Downs Way 100® is a 100 mile non-stop foot race that follows the entire South Downs Way National Trail. The course travels along the chalk ridgeway, starting just outside Winchester and finishing in Eastbourne, crossing rolling hills, ancient forts and picturesque villages with extensive views north across the Weald and south to the coast and the Channel.
The event is listed at Matterley Bowl and is the 15th annual running. It is part of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors Series. Runners are supported by 12 well stocked aid stations, full medical support and a fully marked course. The race uses a 30 hour cut off.
Entry details include a minimum age of 20 on the event date. Entry fees are listed as £222.00 with a UKA discounted fee of £220.00. Entries open on 12 July 2025 and close on 5 June 2026. At the time of listing the event is full; new entries are placed on a waiting list and no payment is required until a place is offered.
