Catonsville High School XC Turkey Trot

The 22nd Annual Catonsville High School XC Turkey Trot is a community running event held on Thanksgiving Day at Catonsville High School. The event features cross country style courses and serves as a fundraiser where all proceeds support the school's cross country program, covering costs for uniforms, training tools, and travel expenses. Both available distances utilize chip timing for accurate results.

Participants can choose from two distinct events:

  • 1 Mile Family Fun Run: A single-loop course for participants of all ages.
  • 5K: A two-loop cross country style race through fall scenery.

The 5K race includes cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, gift card prizes are awarded to the first-place male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. In the 1 Mile Family Fun Run, the top three male and female athletes aged 13 and under receive prizes, and all participants in this age group receive a participation ribbon.

Due to the terrain of the cross country courses, strollers and pets are not permitted in either race. Race day t-shirts are provided to participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The event also includes random prize drawings for items such as running gear, gift baskets, and training programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
