Carlisle City Urban Trail Race - Carlisle, England

Held on 06 May 2026 at The Sands Centre in Carlisle, this event features a 10 km urban trail route through central Carlisle. The course starts close to Carlisle Cathedral on St Mary’s Gate, passes the Millennium Bridge and Carlisle Castle, continues via Bitts Park and Rickerby Park, and finishes close to lamp post No6 at the back of the Sands Centre. The route uses a mixture of on-road sections and well established off-road tracks.

Event entry is limited to 300 runners and entrants must be 15 years or older. Race numbers and timing chips are issued at race registration at the Sands Centre on race day. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be available at the event headquarters. A pre-race briefing is scheduled before the start.

Prizes are awarded for overall Male and Female positions 1st to 3rd. Age group prizes follow a sliding scale: 1st only for categories with 1 to 17 competitors, 1st and 2nd for 18 to 27 competitors, and 1st to 3rd for 28 or more competitors. If an age group finisher also places in the overall prizes, the age group prize rolls down to the next person in that category.

Withdrawals made up to 06 April 2026 are subject to a 50% charge. After that date no refunds are given. Live results are published online and are expected approximately 10 minutes after the race start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
