Care For Kids Barnstaple 10K

The event is an approximately measured 10K road and trail run based at Barnstaple Rugby Club. The course leaves the club with a loop around Bridge Field, follows the Tarka Trail to Pottington, crosses the river via Taw Bridge, completes a short Tarka Trail loop, crosses Long Bridge and continues through Rock Park before returning to the rugby club along Taw Vale and the Strand. The route is predominantly off road on the Tarka Trail and on public pavements and is described as flat and fast.

Entry options include early bird and standard periods with different prices for affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Full standard entry fees are £26 for affiliated runners and £28 for unaffiliated runners. Running shirts are provided only for entries made before 20 May 2026. Finishers receive a medal and the race is chip timed. Prizes are offered in all categories and there is a prize for the best fundraiser.

Team entries are allowed by individuals adding a team name to their entry; running clubs may not enter as a team. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs and no dogs, pushchairs or walkers are permitted. Competitors must be over 15 years of age. A mixed surface coastal out and back of about 7 miles from Blue Anchor to Minehead and back via the Steam Coast Trail, with water stations, first aid, a finishers medal and event T shirts for early online entries.
