The Exmoor Running and Walking Festival is a multi-day outdoor event held at the Pinkery Centre for Outdoor Learning in Simonsbath, Somerset. It brings together two event concepts, The Exmoor Perambulation and Man vs Moor, on the same June weekend around the summer solstice. The festival features runs, walks, evening guest talks, film screenings and social gatherings. A BBQ will be available for attendees to use, and locally made solid oak wooden medals are offered as an optional extra and must be ordered separately.
Event format and entries
The festival programme includes a mix of trail runs and long-distance walks. Distances offered include:
- 30 miles - long distance walk or ultra trail marathon
- 15 miles - long walk or wild trail run
- 10 miles - adventure run (Man vs Moor Ultimate)
- 10 km - adventure run (Man vs Moor Classic)
- 5 km - adventure run (Man vs Moor Light)
- 3 miles - family walk
- 1.5 km - kids run
Some events list age minimums (certain entries open to those aged 8 and over; some long-distance events require entrants to be 16 or older). Published entry fees range from £25.00 to £32.50.
