Capitol Peak

Olympia, United States • 18 Apr 2026

Event Overview

The Capitol Peak trail races offer a 50-mile ultra and a 25 km (~16 mile) distance. Both races start and finish at the Fall Creek Trailhead in Capitol Forest. This will be the 21st year of the event. Parking requires a Discover Pass.

The Course

The course consists of a mix of rugged single-track trails and gravel roads. The terrain can provide spectacular views, weather permitting. The 50-mile course includes Capitol Peak and an out-and-back section on the Porter Trail. It features 7 aid stations. The 25K course has 2 aid stations. Both races finish with a descent back to the Fall Creek Trailhead. Note that Capitol Forest is a working forest, so course revisions are possible.

Race Information

Runners must bring a signed DNR waiver for check-in. Drop bags are available for the 50-mile race at Fall Creek, Capitol Peak, and Wedekind. Dogs are allowed on a leash at the start/finish and on the course. Post-race food is included with registration. Basic camping is available nearby at the Falls Creek Campground on Friday night, also requiring a Discover Pass.
