Saturnalia
Saturnalia is a trail race held at Squaxin Park in Olympia, Washington on 12 December 2026. The event is a roughly 10K route that starts and finishes at the Reeves Middle School track. The course passes through the school grounds, down to Eastbay Drive and into Squaxin Park, using most of the park's upper and lower loops including the Ellis Cove trail before returning to the track.
The event does not enforce a cutoff and participants are welcome to walk the course. The finish area functions as the main aid station and is stocked with water, oranges, hot beverages and holiday treats. Basic first aid and safety support are available. Finishers receive a medal and a finisher gift; a limited edition race sticker is also included. The race supports reforestation by planting a tree for each finisher with One Tree Planted.
Rock Candy Running operates this as a cupless event to reduce waste. Participants are asked to bring a collapsible cup; cups will be available for purchase at packet pickup for those who need one. Race packets can be picked up on race day at Reeves Middle School. Parking is available at the school; the park remains open to other users during the race and participants should share the trails respectfully.
