The Canterbury City Race European Tour takes place in Canterbury from 22 to 24 May 2026. The weekend is organised by Saxons Orienteering Club and Dartford Orienteering and forms part of the City Race European Tour and the UK Urban League. The programme includes a Friday evening prologue just east of Christchurch University, a Saturday city race that covers the medieval centre and cathedral area, and Sunday sprint races on the University of Kent campus. Entries close on 22 May 2026. Car sharing is available. Live results will be available online and final results will be posted after the event.

Courses, entry and facilities

Competitors enter according to urban age class. Seniors may choose to “run up” into older classes; juniors must run their correct age class until their 16th birthday, after which they may choose to run up. Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31 December; full-time students aged 21 and over pay the junior rate. Two courses are aimed at newcomers and people without navigation experience; maps for those courses will be available before each run.

Entry fees vary by registration date. Early bird, standard, and late prices apply with different rates for seniors and juniors. A discount of £2 is applied for entries to both Saturday and Sunday (£1 for juniors). Basic non-SIAC dibber hire costs £1; SIAC dibber hire costs £2.50. Trail runs nearby

Scenic timed loop around Canvey Island via sea wall and coastal path, starting and ending at Waterside Farm Leisure Centre. Counterclockwise, self supported and with a pub check in near 10k for a top up and friendly course sweep.

Join the 666 Trail Run at Kings Wood for a scenic 6.66 mile trail through mature woodland organised by Ashford Tri Club. Limited to 200 entries so book early and expect limited parking and patchy phone signal.

Join KNC 7 on Thursday 20 November for a MapRun Street O along the Isle of Sheppey coast from Little Oyster Car Park, Minster on Sea. Tackle a 60 minute score with 31 virtual controls and enjoy an optional Apres O nearby.

Enjoy a scenic 10 km trail loop around Rye Harbour Nature Reserve at Winchelsea Beach, racing with a friendly small field and marshalled course. Stay for tea and cake and chase prizes for first male and female finishers.
