Canterbury City Race European Tour takes place over a weekend from 22 to 24 May 2026 in Canterbury. The programme includes a Friday evening Prologue east of Christchurch University, a Saturday Canterbury City Race through the medieval centre including the UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral, cobbled streets and city walls, and a Sunday double-header sprint on the University of Kent campus that uses academic buildings and student accommodation. The weekend is part of the City Race European Tour and the UK Urban League; the Sprints serve as the SE Sprints for 2026. Entries close on 22 May 2026.

Format, courses and entry

Entries are by urban age class. Seniors may choose to “run up” into older classes; juniors must run their appropriate age class until their 16th birthday, after which they may choose to run up into senior classes. Two courses are offered for newcomers or runners without navigation experience; course maps will be available before the start. Distances offered include:

  • 5 mile

Early bird, standard and late entry fees are published for Prologue, City Race and Sprints with separate senior and junior rates. A combined Saturday-Sunday entry discount is applied automatically (£2 for adults, £1 for juniors). Basic electronic timing dibbers are available to hire for £1; SIAC dibbers for £2.50.
