The Canterbury City Race European Tour takes place in Canterbury from 22 to 24 May 2026. The weekend is organised by Saxons Orienteering Club and Dartford Orienteering and forms part of the City Race European Tour and the UK Urban League. The programme includes a Friday evening prologue just east of Christchurch University, a Saturday city race that covers the medieval centre and cathedral area, and Sunday sprint races on the University of Kent campus. Entries close on 22 May 2026. Car sharing is available. Live results will be available online and final results will be posted after the event.

Courses, entry and facilities

Competitors enter according to urban age class. Seniors may choose to “run up” into older classes; juniors must run their correct age class until their 16th birthday, after which they may choose to run up. Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31 December; full-time students aged 21 and over pay the junior rate. Two courses are aimed at newcomers and people without navigation experience; maps for those courses will be available before each run.

Entry fees vary by registration date. Early bird, standard, and late prices apply with different rates for seniors and juniors. A discount of £2 is applied for entries to both Saturday and Sunday (£1 for juniors). Basic non-SIAC dibber hire costs £1; SIAC dibber hire costs £2.50. Join KNC9 at Maidstone East for a lively night street orienteering event using MapRun. Explore the town in a 60 minute score format chasing 30 controls, then unwind with fellow orienteers at the Newnham Court Inn.

Run a scenic 10 km loop around Rye Harbour Nature Reserve on 7 December 2025, mostly on trail and fully marshalled and marked. Limited to 70 runners, with postrace tea and cake at Winchelsea Beach Community Centre.
