Canterbury City Race European Tour 2026

The Canterbury City Race European Tour is a weekend of urban orienteering events in the historic city of Canterbury. It is organized by Saxons Orienteering Club and Dartford Orienteering.

The weekend consists of three distinct events. A Prologue takes place on the evening of Friday, May 22, located just east of Christchurch University. The main Canterbury City Race is held on Saturday, May 23, offering a course through the city's medieval streets and past landmarks including its UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral. On Sunday, May 24, the event moves to the University of Kent Campus for a double-header sprint event. The City Race is part of the City Race European Tour and UK Urban League. The Sprints also serve as the 2026 SE Sprints.

Multiple courses are offered for each event, categorized by age and gender. Two special courses are available for newcomers and runners: a 5 km and a 5 mile course. These are designed for participants without navigation experience, and course maps are provided before starting.

Entry fees vary by date and age category, with discounts for juniors and for entering both Saturday and Sunday races. An electronic timing device is available to hire. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
