Canterbury City Race European Tour

Canterbury, United Kingdom • 22-24 May 2026

Overview

The Canterbury City Race European Tour takes place in Canterbury from 22 to 24 May 2026. The weekend is organised by Saxons Orienteering Club and Dartford Orienteering. The event is part of the City Race European Tour and the UK Urban League. The Saturday City Race is held in the historic city centre and includes routes that pass the cathedral, cobbled streets, historic architecture, and ancient city walls. Sunday’s events are sprints on the University of Kent campus. A Friday evening Prologue is held east of Christchurch University. Car sharing is available.

Format and courses

Events use urban age classes. Seniors may choose to “run up” into an older class; juniors must run their appropriate age class until their 16th birthday. Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31 December; full-time students aged 21 and over pay the junior rate. Two courses are offered for newcomers without navigation experience, with maps provided before the run. Distances for these newcomer courses include:

  • 5 km
  • 5 mile

Live results will be available online and final results will be posted on the event website.
