Format and route

The event uses a self-start format with written route instructions provided to participants. There is no mass start, no marked route and no marshalls. Participants will be timed. A final email with any safety updates will be sent a few days before the event.

Venue and logistics

The venue is The Zach Willsher, 170-180 Church Road, Benfleet, Essex SS7 4PL. Parking at the pub is on a first come, first served basis; additional street parking is available. Footwear suitable for off-road running is strongly advised and muddy trail shoes are not allowed inside the venue. Dogs are not permitted on the event.

A small voucher for The Zach Willsher is provided to finishers. Discounted entry applies to members of clubs affiliated to England Athletics. Prices are shown with a discounted rate before 20 March 2026 and a standard rate thereafter. A 5K self navigational trail run at Nuclear Essex on 14 February supporting the British Heart Foundation. Participants follow a checkpoint route, are asked to wear something red and receive hot chocolate and Jammie Dodgers at the finish.
