Buttermere Sailbeck is a challenging fell race held in Buttermere Village, featuring a demanding course of just over 9 miles with more than 4000 feet of climbing. The route ascends Knott Rigg, traverses the ridgeline of Ard Crags, and descends into Rigg Beck before a tough climb to Causey Pike. Runners then enjoy a scenic run across Scar Crags to Sail and Crag Hill, followed by a long, exhilarating descent over Whiteless Pike back to Buttermere. The race is known for its tough terrain and stunning views, making it a classic event for experienced fell runners. Parking is available in a designated field with a fee.
