Burnsall 12k Trail Race is scheduled for 18 April 2026 and forms part of the Due North Trail series. The route covers 12 km and follows the first 12k of the half marathon with a diversion from Appletreewick that returns runners to the finish in Burnsall. The event has a minimum age of 17 on the event date. Entries opened on 29 July 2025 and close on 14 April 2026. Entry fees are £25 for UKA members and £27 for non-members. A series discount of £7.50 is available when entering three events in the series. At the time of publication there are 12 participants entered.

Location and logistics

The start and finish are at the Riverside Car Park field in Burnsall village, BD23 6BU. The car park field is beside the Red Lion pub; go over the bridge on the right and the field is immediately on the right. Free car parking is provided and marshals will direct vehicles. A toilet block with male and female toilets is at the top of the car park. The course is partially way marked and drinks stations will provide water and juice. Included for participants are a post-race meal (pie, soup or similar), a bottle of beer, Due North merchandise and sponsor goodies. Minimum kit requirements include a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, a personal cup or bottle for water, and a mobile phone with a location app. Spectator viewing points include Appletreewick and paths along the Dales Way; spectators are asked not to park on narrow country roads. Two winter races from Great Owl Running on 24 January 2026 at Kirkstall Bridge. A roughly 16 km multi terrain route follows the canal and River Aire while a 10 km out and back runs along the canal.

Take on The Half & Half 10 km on 25 January 2026 at Sowerby Bridge for a split terrain challenge. Rugged muddy trails and obstacles give way to a tarmac finish, entries are limited to 100 and hoodies are available to pre order.
