The Buckeye Trail event takes place on 06/28/2026 at Oak Grove Picnic Area in Brecksville Reservation, Brecksville, Ohio. The picnic area is located on Valley Parkway, approximately 1.5 miles east of Brecksville Rd/US 21. The event offers two trail distances.
- 50K
- 25K point to point Pine Lane to Oak Grove
The 25K is a point to point course from Pine Lane to Oak Grove and uses the same trails as the 50K. The original Buckeye Trail 50K began in 1994 as an informal birthday run. The first course was an out and back from Oak Grove heading south to Pine Lane and once included extra segments to Brecksville Road, making the initial route longer than 50 kilometers.
As park routes have changed over time, the course layout has evolved. The event has grown in participation since its early years and is recognized in the source material as the oldest trail 50K in Ohio. The description notes the race is now in its 31st year.
