The Buckeye Trail is a running event held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Oak Grove Picnic Area in the Brecksville Reservation. It is part of the Ohio Endurance Series. The event features two distances: 50k and 25k.

Course Details

The 50k race is a point-to-point course. The 25k distance is also a point-to-point event, running from the Pine Lane Trailhead to the Oak Grove Picnic Area on the same trails as the 50k. A shuttle bus is available from a municipal parking lot in Brecksville to the start for the 25k.

Historical Background

The Buckeye Trail 50k began in 1994 as an informal birthday run. It is recognized as the oldest trail 50k race in the state of Ohio. The original course was an out-and-back route.

Participant Information

Participants receive a triblend T-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in various five-year age groups.
