Akron Trail Marathon

The Akron Trail Marathon event on July 11, 2026 takes place in Akron, Ohio and offers three distance options.

• Marathon
• Half Marathon
• 10K

The course starts at the Memorial Parkway trailhead, includes a short out and back into downtown, then follows the locks north onto the Towpath. After the Towpath the route continues onto the rugged trails of Summit Metro Parks and runs alongside the Cuyahoga River. The full marathon route includes over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. The 10K contains about 4 miles of crushed limestone trail and 2 miles of rugged hills. The half marathon mixes crushed limestone trail, rugged hills, and a hilly road section.

Aid and logistics information notes the marathon will have six water stops, the half marathon four, and the 10K one. Water and sports drink will be available at those stops and snacks will be offered at the Oxbow aid station for the half and full distances. Participants are advised to carry a handheld water bottle because conditions in mid July are likely to be hot and humid. Cutoff times are seven hours for the full and four hours for the half. Minimum age for the full marathon is 18.

Awards include first and second overall male and female and masters male and female in each distance. All finishers receive medals. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning.
