Akron Trail Marathon - Akron, Ohio

The Akron Trail Marathon offers marathon, half marathon, and 10K distances beginning at the Memorial Parkway trailhead in Akron. The course moves from a short out and back into the city, follows the locks out of downtown, continues north on the Towpath, and then enters the rugged trails of the Summit Metro Parks along the Cuyahoga River.

Distances

• Marathon over 2,000 feet of gain; Towpath, crushed limestone, and rugged trails
• Half Marathon mix of crushed limestone, rugged hills, and a hilly road section
• 10K about four miles of crushed limestone trail and two miles of rugged hills

Aid stations are fewer than on a typical road course. There are six water stops on the marathon route, four on the half marathon route, and one on the 10K route. Water and sports drink will be available; snacks are provided at the Oxbow aid station for half and full distances. Runners are advised to carry a handheld water bottle for likely hot and humid mid-July conditions.

Awards are given to first and second overall male and female in each distance and to masters male and female in each distance. Medals are provided to all finishers. Price includes medal and t-shirt; guaranteed t-shirt size requires registration by June 14. Packet pickup occurs on the Friday before the race and on race morning for out of town guests.
