British OCR Championship

The British OCR Championship is a competitive obstacle course race held in Brentwood, Essex. Sanctioned by British Obstacle Sports, this event serves as the competitive highlight of the Nuclear Rush weekend. The course is set across rugged terrain including farmland, woods, rivers, and lakes, featuring mud and water elements throughout.

Participants compete on a 12 km+ course that utilizes the standard Rush route but includes additional sections and obstacles specifically designed for the championship. The race features over 60 obstacles, including technical challenges that require mandatory completion. Competitors can attempt these obstacles multiple times, though failure to complete them results in a penalty as outlined by official race rules.

The event includes several registration categories:

  • Elite male and female
  • Male and female age groups (18-34 to 60+)
  • Competitive Para
  • Competitive international male and female
  • Non-competitive open waves

All finishing competitors receive a 2026 British Champs Medal. The event is chip timed, and participants have access to a spectator village with food, drinks, and music. Winners in the overall male and female categories receive a trophy and prize money. This race also serves as a qualifier for the OCR European Championships and OCR World Championships.

Participants must be current members of British Obstacle Sports at the time of the event. The location is accessible from Brentwood station and Epping Underground station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
