Event overview

The Brandy Station Battlefield race offers road and trail running options at Brandy Station Battlefield, Brandy Station, VA. The organizer stages both an in-person event and a virtual run option. Points from the event count toward the 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series, and the Summer Series. Distances offered:

Registration fees and deadlines are: 5k $30 until September 15, then $35; 10k $45 until September 15, then $50. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners who register before September 17; later registrants may receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis. Race day registration is available with a $5 price increase on race morning.

Course, logistics and awards

The course combines cross country and gravel dirt roads; the 10k contains more cross country terrain. There are some slight elevation gains. The event is chip timed and provides a finisher’s medal and a technical Dri-FIT event shirt to participants. Water stations: three on the 10k at about miles 0.8, 2.3, and 4.3; two on the 5k at about miles 0.8 and 1.3; some stations will include Gatorade. Portajohns will be located at the start/finish area. Live results will be posted online, and final results with series points will be published on the organizer’s website after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to the first and second place male and female in standard age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes.
