Barrel Oak Turkey Trot 6k

Event Overview

The Barrel Oak Turkey Trot takes place at Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane, Virginia. The event offers distances of 3k and 6k.

Course & Race Details

The course is a cross-country route around the vineyards. It includes sections of gravel dirt road and some hills. The 6k distance is two laps of the 3k route. Four water stations are positioned along the 6k course, and two are on the 3k course. Gatorade may be available at some stations.

The event is chip-timed. Results are posted live online, and a QR code is available at the race for immediate result viewing. Walkers and leashed pets are welcome.

Registration & Fees

Registration is available on race day. Prices increase by $5 per distance on race morning. A technical event shirt is guaranteed for runners registered before a specified date; for later registrants, shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A virtual run option is also offered.

Participant Perks & Awards

Registered runners receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and a glass of wine or beer from Barrel Oak Winery & Brewery. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall. Age group awards are also presented for various categories, though top-three overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Series & Charity

Race participation earns points for the organizer's year-long 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack, and Sippin’ series. The event benefits the charity Warriors Ethos, which supports the career planning and professional development of service members, veterans, and their families.

Logistics

Packet pickup and race day registration are available on-site. Participants are advised to arrive one hour before their race start. Parking is available at the winery. Restrooms are located inside the winery building. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
