BRADBURY BREAKER - July 12, 2026
The Bradbury Breaker is a 9 miles trail race held on the mountain side of Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, ME. The course consists of two laps of a hilly, technical single-track loop with climbs, classic Maine rocks and roots, and forested trails. The event note describes climbs that will challenge runners and a course that requires attention to footing.
The race cutoff is three hours, equivalent to a 20-minute mile pace. The field is capped at 160 runners; there is no wait list, no bib transfers, and no same-day registration. Dogs are not permitted on the course or at the event. Race etiquette requests that runners yield to other trail users, stay on the marked course, pack out what they bring, and avoid headphones so they can hear volunteers and other trail users.
Trail Monster Running organizes the event as a nonprofit with unpaid volunteer organizers. All registered runners receive that year’s custom race T-shirt at bib pickup; registrants after June 26 will initially receive a Men’s Large and may exchange sizes after the race if extras remain. Prizes are awarded to top overall finishers and by decade age-group drawings, with many items donated by local sponsors.
The Breaker is part of the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series where completing four races within cutoff times earns a series hoodie and series champions receive additional awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
