BRADBURY BRUISER - August 9, 2026
The Bruiser is a trail race held at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, ME, beginning from 528 Hallowell Rd. The course uses the East Side trail system and is a 12-mile loop of single-track trails featuring rocks, roots, bumps, and hills. The final section known as the O-Trail is described as especially demanding.
The race has a cut off time of 3 hours 36 minutes, equivalent to an 18-minute mile pace. Field size is limited to 180 runners per race in the Bradbury Mountain Trail Series. There is no waiting list, no bib number transfers, and no same day registration. Bib pickup and check-in occur on race morning and T-shirts for registered runners are distributed at bib pickup; runners must be present to receive their shirt.
Awards include first choice from the prize table for the overall male and female finishers. Additional prizes are drawn at random among age group decade winners. The Bruiser is the third race in the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series. Runners who complete four races in the series within the cutoff times receive a Bad Ass Hoodie after the fourth race, and overall series champions also receive a handcrafted Adirondack chair.
Trail Monster Running is a not-for-profit organization. Organizers are unpaid volunteers and net proceeds support race equipment and local outdoor and trail related nonprofits. Any leftover shirts or hoodies are donated to local homeless shelters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
