BRADBURY BRUISER : August 9, 2026
The Bradbury Bruiser is a trail race in Pownal, ME, organized by Trail Monster Running. The course uses much of Bradbury Mountain State Park’s East Side trail system and consists of a roughly 12 mile loop of single-track trails with rocks, roots, bumps, and hills. The final two miles follow the O-Trail, a notable section of the route.
The race has a cutoff time of 3 hours 36 minutes, which corresponds to an 18-minute mile pace. Runners must stay on the marked course, yield and communicate when passing, and pack out any litter. Headphones are discouraged so participants can hear volunteers and other runners. Dogs are not permitted on the course or at the event.
Entry for the Bruiser is limited to 160 runners. There is no wait list, no bib transfers, and no same day registration. T-shirts with a new annual design are distributed at bib pickup and require the runner to be present to receive them.
Awards include first choice from the prize table for the top three overall male and female finishers, and additional prizes awarded by random drawing among winners in each decade age group. Sponsors contribute many prizes. The Bruiser is the third race in the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series.
Trail Monster Running is a nonprofit staffed by unpaid volunteers. Proceeds support race equipment and local outdoor and trail related nonprofits, and leftover shirts or hoodies are donated to local homeless shelters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
