Bradbury Bruiser

The Bradbury Bruiser is a trail race held at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, ME, following much of the park’s East Side trail system. The course is a twisting, technical loop of approximately 12-mile single track trails with rocks, roots, bumps, and hills. The final two miles include the "O-Trail," noted for its sustained technical terrain.

The event enforces a race cutoff of 3 hours 36 minutes, equivalent to an 18-minute mile pace. Field size is limited to 180 runners; there is no waiting list, no bib number transfers, and no same day registration. Registration opens March 31, 2026.

Race-day procedures include bib pickup and check-in on the morning of the race. Registered runners receive the event T-shirt at bib pickup and must be present to receive the shirt.

Prizes and awards: the first overall male and female finishers choose first from the prize table. Additional prizes are awarded by random drawing among winners of each decade age group.

The Bruiser is the third race in the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series, also called the Badass Bradbury Races. Runners who finish four races in the series within the cutoff times receive a Bad Ass Hoodie after the fourth race. Series champions also receive a handcrafted Adirondack chair from Prospect Mountain Furniture along with individual race prizes.

Trail Monster Running organizes the series as a not-for-profit. Organizers are unpaid volunteers. Proceeds support race equipment and local outdoor and trail nonprofits, and leftover shirts or hoodies are donated to local homeless shelters.
