Boneyard Boogie 14K & 6K

The Boneyard Boogie serves as the opening event for the 2026 Vail Trail Running Series. Located in the Town of Eagle, Colorado, the event features a scenic course primarily composed of single track trails winding through pinyon groves and juniper shrubs. Both race distances start and finish at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink.

Participants can choose from two distinct distances:

  • 14.4 km (9 miles)
  • 6 km (3.7 miles)

The 14.4 km course consists of 87% single track, 11% paved roads, and 2% dirt or gravel roads. It features a maximum elevation of 7,718 feet with a total elevation gain of 1,279 feet. The 6 km route is 96% single track and includes 375 feet of elevation gain, reaching a high point of 6,965 feet.

The event operates as a papercup-less race series to reduce waste. Aid stations are positioned along the routes providing water and hydration drinks, though runners are encouraged to carry their own reusable hydration devices. Post-race refreshments including fruit and donuts are provided at the finish line, followed by an afterparty at Capitol Public House featuring food, drinks, and awards for various age categories.

Parking is available at the Eagle Bike Park dirt lot, adjacent to the start area. Registration is available online in advance or on-site during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
