The Sunlight Showdown

The Sunlight Showdown is a trail race series held at Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, running from June 27 to September 19, 2026. The series includes three trail events that follow routes through Babbish Gulch and Sunlight Mountain terrain.

Distances and approximate elevation gains:

• 5K Trail Run, approx elevation gain 600 ft
• 10K Trail Run, approx elevation gain 1100 ft
• Half Marathon Trail Run (13.2 miles), approx elevation gain 3000 ft

Event logistics and services are provided per race. Bib pick up takes place in the main lodge at Sunlight Mountain Resort; 5K and 10K bib pick up windows and day of registration are offered on those race days, while the half marathon has an earlier bib pick up window and no day of registration. The half marathon includes one aid station at mile 8.5 with water and an electrolyte mix; the 5K and 10K list no aid stations. Entry fees are listed for each race and podium prizes are provided by Arc'teryx Aspen. Age categories are 18 and under, 19 to 45, and 45 and over.
