Boise Front Trail Festival
The Boise Front Trail Festival takes place over two days at the Frontier Point Lodge within the Bogus Basin Ski Resort. Participants navigate trails and nature in the Boise area, with proceeds from the event donated to the Ridge to Rivers trail system. These funds support local trail projects, such as the Hawkins Reserve Trail in the Boise Foothills.
The festival offers three distinct trail events:
- 2 Miles (Hill Climb): A steep uphill route covering 1,400 feet of vertical climb to the top of Shafer Butte.
- 5 Miles: A course featuring rolling terrain and wide trails with minimal rocks.
- 10 Miles: An event with over 2,000 feet of climbing that reaches the highest point in Boise.
The 5 mile and 10 mile courses both have generous cutoff times that accommodate participants who choose to hike the entire distance. Participants in these two Saturday distances receive a t-shirt and a custom-designed medal upon finishing. The hill climb event on Friday is held on a combination of terrain and takes the shortest path to the peak.
The event organizers utilize courses near the Frontier Point Lodge and are updated to include singletrack sections. Camping options are available for those participating in events on both Friday and Saturday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
