Boise Front Trail Festival
The Boise Front Trail Festival is a two day trail event at Frontier Point Lodge, Bogus Basin Ski Resort in Boise, ID on Friday July 31 and Saturday August 1, 2026. The festival presents multiple trail options over varied foothills terrain and includes the following races:
- 5 Mile Course
- 10 Mile Course
- Hill Climb
Organizers note proposed course changes for 2026 that may include more singletrack and a start and finish closer to the main lodge; maps from previous years are provided only as reference and may not apply. The Hill Climb follows a short route to the top of Shafer Butte, the highest point in Boise, and contains steep sections and mixed terrain. The 10 mile course includes more than 2,000 feet of climbing and has a generous cutoff time that allows participants to hike portions of the route. The 5 mile course uses wider, rolling trails with fewer rocks and a similar generous cutoff time.
Proceeds from the festival are donated to Ridge to Rivers. Since 2022 the event has contributed more than $20,000 to local trail projects, including support for the Hawkins Reserve Trail. All 5 mile and 10 mile finishers receive a t shirt and a custom designed medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
