The BMF UTA Training run takes place on April 26, 2026 in Katoomba, NSW. It is a guided long run that follows much of the Ultra Trail Australia (UTA) courses and is described as the final long training run three weeks before Ultra Trail Australia. Distances offered:
- 20 km
- 34 km
- 45+ km
Three pace groups will operate on the day: the MIGHTY TURTLES, a mid paced group, and the SPEEDY HARES. The minimum age for participants is 16. Blue Mountains Fitness holds a National Parks and Wildlife ECO PASS licence and insurance to run training within the national park.
Course, logistics and requirements
The base 34 km route is the QV - Kedumba Loop and includes Kedumba, Leura Creek, Jamison Creek, the Helipad, the Sewer Plant, Federal Pass, Leura Forest, Fern Bower, Leura Cascades, The Fairmont, Wentworth Falls, Hordern Road and Kings Tableland Road. There is an option to bail out at Gordon Falls Park around 20 km; transport back to Queen Victoria Hospital is arranged for bailouts. Participants are asked to bring UTA50/100/Miler mandatory gear and sufficient food and hydration for about seven hours on feet. Fees listed are $90 for the full course and $85 for the 20 km option.
