The BMF UTA Training-Miler is a guided trail training run on March 1, 2026, organised by Blue Mountains Fitness in the Blue Mountains National Park, NSW. The training targets the early, steep sections of the Ultra Trail Australia (UTA) Miler course and is also relevant to the Hounslow Classic. Blue Mountains Fitness holds a National Parks and Wildlife ECO PASS licence and runs course training within the park. This session is listed as week 5 of a 16-week STREEK.RUN UTA Miler race program.
Course and distances
The run starts and finishes at Perry's Lookdown car park and follows sections of the UTA course. The route descends into the Grose Valley, climbs Lockleys Pylon, and passes the Pinnacles Aid Station and Fortress Ridge Aid Station (CP3). Distances offered include:
- 25 km with approximately 2100 m elevation gain/loss
- 18 km with approximately 1600 m elevation gain/loss
There is an optional extra kilometre for fitter participants and several possible early turn-around points, including the Pinnacles Aid Station.
Logistics and support
Three pace groups will operate on the day, including faster and medium groups. Participants are required to carry the UTA mandatory gear. Organisers will provide a water stash at Pinnacles Car Park and supply two 600 ml bottles for the return section. The run is expected to take about 5 to 6 hours depending on pace groups.
