BMF UTA Training run, Kings Tableland

A guided training run that follows large sections of the Ultra Trail Australia courses around Kings Tableland and Wentworth Falls. The route uses the QV Loop of the UTA50/UTA100 course with added sections from other UTA routes to increase distance. The minimum distance is 20 km.

Distances offered:

  • 20 km
  • 34 km
  • 43 km and longer options

The planned route starts at Queen Victoria Hospital and passes down Kedumba to Leura Creek and Jamison Creek, then to the Helipad, the sewer plant, Federal Pass, Leura Forest, Leura Stairs, Leura Cascades, Wentworth Falls, Hordern Road and Kings Tableland Road. There is an option to bail out at Gordon Falls at about 20 km, and transport support is available to assist with returns to parked cars.

Blue Mountains Fitness runs the event in collaboration with The Body Mechanic and aligns the session with STREEK.RUNUTA base training plans and event specific UTA race plans. The organisers hold an NPWS ECO PASS licence and insurance to operate within the National Park. Participants should carry mandatory UTA50/100 gear, at least 2 litres of fluid, and enough nutrition for roughly 6 to 7 hours on feet. An information sheet with maps and meeting points will be provided before the training day.

Fees are listed for the full course and the 20 km option and include National Park fees and transport where required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
