BMF UTA Training Run
Katoomba, Australia • 15 Feb 2026
Event overview
The BMF UTA training run on Sunday 15 February 2026 is a guided training run in the Blue Mountains at Scenic World, Katoomba, NSW. The run follows the UTA22 course with added sections from the UTA50, UTA100 and UTA Miler to provide extra distance. The advertised distance range is 18–32 km. The event is part of the Streek 16-week Ultra Trail Australia training program and is described as the end of Week 3, the first long run before a recovery week. Minimum age is 16 and the fee is $75 for participants aged 16 and over.
Route, pacing and logistics
The run is set to start at Queen Victoria Hospital and finish at the Scenic World car park. The route descends Kedumba Valley Road, passes Leura Creek, Jamison Creek, the helipad and the old sewer plant, travels on Federal Pass, then ascends Furber Steps to Scenic World. Organisers will provide car shuttles and taxi buses between Scenic World and Queen Victoria Hospital. There are three pace groups (Mighty Turtles, a mid-paced group, and Speedy Hares) and a possible walker group; options exist to run less distance by starting at Kedumba Gate or using a shortcut near the sewer plant. For nutrition and water, there is a water drop at the old sewer plant around 17 km with one bottle per person and additional water stashes for extra-distance runners. Blue Mountains Fitness is licensed by National Parks and Wildlife to run training in the National Park and carries public liability insurance.
