The Wentworth Falls trail run takes place on Sunday, 8 February 2026 with the race hub at the Fairmont Resort, Leura. Distances offered are:

  • 11 km
  • 16 km

Entry fee for each distance is $65. There are no on-the-day entries and each event has a competitor limit. Race records published for 2024 list the fastest 16 km times as 1:21:22 (male) and 1:35:30 (female), and the fastest 11 km times as 59:39 (male) and 1:19:02 (female).

Course and on-course services

Both courses start and finish at the Fairmont and run through Blue Mountains National Park on single trails and stairs, passing Wentworth Falls and Mt. Solitary. Key route features include Lilian’s Bridge, the Conservation Hut, the Shortcut Track, Chester Rd, Fletcher’s Lookout, the Undercliff and Overcliff Tracks, and the uphill return to the Fairmont. Aid Station 1 (Conservation Hut) provides water and fruit. Aid Station 2 (Chester Rd) provides water, fruit and electrolyte. Aid stations will not provide single-use cups; runners must carry at least 500 mL of water and are asked to bring their own cup or flask. There are toilets at the Fairmont and public toilets at the Conservation Hut.

Rules, safety and services

All runners must reach Valley of the Waters within 2 hours (12 km point for the 16 km course, 9 km for the 11 km course). Headphones are not permitted; walking poles are allowed. Runners and volunteers receive a free coffee or hot chocolate and hot food and a cold drink at the finish. Volunteers and first-aid contact are provided at aid stations.
